We seize a gulp of air and misuse it on words of loathing.
Use life to give back, not condemn
It’s so much easier to compromise
Why do you enjoy creating pain?
We may be a religion apart
A belief, an opinion, a country.
Nevertheless, we are all here
and we are a dynasty.
Hate is an insult, a slap in the face, an argument, a fight, a war. An end.
We are only as distanced from ourselves as we want to be,
and we want to be thousands of miles away.
Knocking down one wall and building two more does nothing.
Love your life, and live it too.
Author notes
Well, I'm in a Writer's Guild at my school, and we're trying to get published at all costs. We had to write a non-rhyming poem about the human condition, and this is my attempt.
WARNING: I have no muse, and feel as dry as a bone. If you criticize this, be gracious enough to say what's wrong with it.
