Celestial Separation

Golden curls
adorned atop your
luminescent face-
you are a sun god
spreading your glow
throughout the land.

But I am a daughter
of the mystical moon
meant to live
in your absence.
I sometimes hang
in the blue sky,
in your time,
and I can
quiver in your heat
and revel in
your bright glare.

I only shine
when you look at me.
I only shine
when you look at me.
