Ireland o' Mine!

Missing image

I am truly blessed,

Realizing that for

Eternity,

Lands have been homesteaded,

And adopted for all to possess.

Never before have I felt

Desire for a land

o’ my very own -

My Ireland!

In sun, mist, rain, or snow,

Not having yet stepped on her shore,

Erin is my home!

nicely done and well-written. the irish and scottish blood is well-represented among the Muscogee (Creek) Nation of Native Americans. this is a very well-thought out effort! thank you.

Wonderful! Thank you for putting the Irish background with all the pics. It's my dream to go there and visit family before I die lol. My boyfriend and I are so fascinated with Ireland (he's pure Irish too) his cell phone wallpaper says Erin go Bragh on it, and every one of his tattoos is a tribute. Sorry, I'm ranting, it just made me really happy lol..
I love the Acrostic poem and the flow is flawless, it just rolls off the tip of your tongue. Very tasteful and beautifully written!

Red is missing her mother land,
oh blow the bagpipes to prompt the band.
    Start to jig,
    everyone's gig,
    send her some haggis, non-canned!

    Always look'n for a bus,
    readily Europe's menace.
Easily ready to start a fuss,

    really not known for dentists.
Everyone shut your mouth and jus'

I am so glad to come to this site and to choose this poem. I didn't know that it will be acrostic, I do not like it too much but this time it perfect fits to your words and love for Ireland. It was not hard to close my eyes and to see all those green glens and glades of Ireland although you never mentioned its color, I see it this way. Great poetry.

wonderful acrostic... flows very smoothly and naturally, captures and describes this sentiment well, and nicely chosen details to give a glimpse of the country.

never seen "homesteaded" before, struck me as a bit clumsy, but could be i'm just unfamiliar with this word. but wonder if this line could be reworked slightly, i like what you say here but stumbled a little on how you said it.

anyway, nicely done. (and the pictures on the border are gorgeous).
