postage due the morrow

The copyright office asks for 10, 15, 30 and 45 dollars
and I don't mind
if tax cuts are the federal style
up and up small government flourishes setting record deficits
borrowed to procure less and less; smaller is better
smaller poems and water boarding surfing the internees
wind cages chiming in too for illegal combatants
struggling to blow up New York

Due is the reason for tribal volkerwanderringing
flinging labor over the border
trans-nationals income-piling drivers for extra memory
luxury taxes by gangster governors trim families
making work for barbers better
ode to Odessa's enterprise
brides for the asking
and in the Dominican Republic too senioritas bask
private jets flot better with the landing ramps down
like UFO's sequestering mademoiselle from the filthy hordes
clutching pieces of bread and circuses
the poor present
with worn tired fingers, so many darkened by cold and tattered wool
so several odd temporary sticks point to the sky
they expect post paid envelopes as their due
and efficient public transportation for a ruble
as if an Exxon Valdez would appear over the horizon
run up and off the reef to kill the seals
every obstruction of hearts and minds would disappear
endless profits and Cuban sugar liberated from wrath
dictators and developers, polluters and world tenants
occupying everything along the beach fronts of each continent
so everyone watches the fish; it swam northwest
global news reported catch and release
into the plutonium ocean
the deep turning away from itself
like Eris' other iceballs flung farthest moons
grey, white and ash so far from Kopernigkt's star
space-times standing waves of social reality reaching beyond
five-days distant to another Universe
the one with violet skies at noon
where the postman is reliable-
ethically a good father with the bag of tricks and treats
peace please the stars in the sky

such a home for Erebus and Terror
a frigid scurvy of the soul

Xena stands guard alone amidst millions

ice chunks of hydrogen, helium oxygen and alien life

freedom from the tax of power annexes is so far beyond

good to see a write from you here Gary, you have touched on so many issues, global troubles we certainly have an abundance of. i had to google a few of your references, i am always amazed at how informed you keep yourself on matters. i read a lot, but maybe i need to start reading from different sources. you could write a book on any one of the items you have included here, and i know you do write on these matters, and well.

the 'poetic' injustice of all of this is something i would like to have seen a bit more concise for this write in this particular 'contest' and i have read some of your poetry , though there is no word limit here, i believe you could trim this up a bit and use some metaphor to edit this into an astounding write, you have so much of importance to say, but i admit that for me it is a bit overwhelming to see so much of it presented in this way. but who am i to suggest anything to one who writes such articles as i know you do.
none the less, i soaked it in and it has opened a door for me to other reading, for that i thank you. and thank you for choosing to enter this into my contest.
each day i am thankful for opportunity to learn more about life, we each have a voice, and it is nice to see you speak out.

      thanks Rebekka

There was an exhibit by Man Ray in the L.A. museum of modern art years ago. Included was the Fibonacci series represented by alligators spaced at the right mathematical progression intervals on the wall and across the ceiling. Spacing of all sorts of objects at mathematical intervals, including planetary objects is an interesting concept-I think it applies in political thinking wherein political programs function on their own quantum levels somewhat automatically and detached from democracy.

I will consider using more metaphor, or I will try to use more metaphor-I still have some time to go. In a sense political observations are allready abstract-and I think it is difficult to convert an existing abstraction into another abstraction. I think I use metaphor when it is a simpler way to express something. It is difficult to believe that metaphor could be used as an action figure instead of political terminology-its a sort of Boston cream pie in the face to my existing ideas about that.

I have used my google personalized igoogle tool to select some really nice science news, astronomy photos and other information gadgets easy to access. Thanks for your comments Rebeka.
