Today, I happen to be walking.
From time to time, I find myself talking.
To myself or to the air around me, I didn't care.
I just wanted to talk. And my conversation was fair.
Then I came across a little boy who was crying to himself.
I looked around in wonder as to who's kid it was, his sadness could be felt.
"I want my mommy." he said almost incoherantly, I looked at him and wondered what to do.
I wondered if I should help this obviously lost child, But I didn't know what to do.
I looked and I looked, Surely he wasn't alone. There had to be some-one here.
I decided to call out for the small boy's mother. Within minutes, this is what I hear.
"Leave my son alone, You freak!" Then the lady's hitting me. Is this woman insane?
All I did was try to help the small boy but I guess that was my mistake.
From now on, If I ever see any small child crying alone again,
With a grin, This is what I'll say, "Have an issue? Here's a tissue." Then walk away from them.

wow, That's sad. How can people be so blind. You shouldn't just ignore the problem, even if this happens again. You never know what could happen if you don't.

This shows that some people are truly narrow minded and free of thought. It was a good thing that you were trying to do and I can appreciate that

Thank you for entering and good luck

That is a shame that some people cannot see or accept help, they think only the worst. Nice flow.

I encourage you to keep writing to read and comment.

This poem reminds me of the saying that no good deed remains unpunished. Sometimes it's just so hard to make what should be the "right" choice, even if we care, because our society interprets everything. Good luck in the contest.

In life it is difficult to know what choice to make. To help or to walk away. Some people are just plainly ignorant and others maybe a little over protective.

Nicely written with a good flow and rhythm.

Good luck - let the ink flow and your fingers dance

    Welcome to All Poetry

It is so sad that in today's society wwe are fristly seen as abusers when simply trying to help our fellow man.
You have certainly put tjhis in the spotlight with your write.
These issues sadly affect the choices we make in the future.
Thanks so much for sharing this in our contest

you repeat your self in this write
    I find myself talking.
To myself or to the air around me,
    wondered what to do.
I wondered if I should help this obviously lost child,
I think you have a great poem here however you need to clean it up a bit and edit some of the repeated words out.

    Thanks for your entry :]

    G'day GaryxThexTruth

I like the humor in this write. Made me think that yes, helping someone is a choice and when we are attacked for doing so whether we should try it again.

    Well penned
Best of luck to you in the contest
