he was not on the Ball,
he was drunk and
Lucille should have
been Lucy after grandma
(whom she loved)
he preferred Jameson's
to most things, even then
names were as incidental
as she was
she has visited many places
without the need for him,
spat from the top of the
Eiffel Tower screeching:
"c'est la vie!"
she was younger,
far less refined,
still aspiring to being
loved like lucy...
Author notes
that L in my middle name is for Lucille...

I missed this... somehow. I loved this, my middle name is after my Nana too. Not Lucille, but Margaret, lol. groan.
I always kinda liked Maggie though.
The ending is so perfect
and yes, c'est le vie, indeed. sigh.

Ah. The Lucy poem. I Love Lucy is actually my favorite show of all times. Right there with SATC and House. Lucy, though... Lucy had spunk.
Wouldn't it have been nice to grow up and have the life that Lucy (in the show) had? Love, laughs, friends who came up in the middle of the night to laugh with you? Ah.
Great poem.

I often wish I was someone else, and on a daily basis my heroes change. I love the freedom of this, of being someone else, or even just aspiring to..

reminds me that no matter what goes on in our lives or who is in it
to live it to the fullest and maybe someday our fullest desires of being loved would come true
really liked this

a bit of a carefree feel to this, and just a little sad, as well - but beautiful throughout!
