Pictured Memories

I saw you just the other day,
in a picture I should say.
My friend with smiles so deep,
oh, what memories I wish to keep.
We've 'oft seen day's of sunshine,
but now I see you facing pain.

I'd like to take you back,
to the life you now lack.
When my eyes close so tight,
I see a friend with hope and might.
That friend could take on anything,
and still today she stops at nothing.
But when you look in eyes so deep,
you now see, pain life brought to keep.

I know with life the skin will toughen,
and at the heart, troubles keep sandin'.
But when I look back,
careless lives do we lack.
Hope's and dream's that's what we wanted,
with happy memories, we now are taunted.

With age you gain wisdom,
wanting to be older with freedom.
When you start to age,
facing life, you wish to turn back a page.

I saw you just the other day,
in a picture I should say.
The one I used to know,
memories and freedom now show.
The one's we used to be,
memories of you and me.

Happiness does not grow too old,
so lets smile again, be bold.
Not a care in the world,
back to young we fall torward.
With age you gain wisdom,
wisdom to be young again if you can.
Growing up is not a curse,
what we wished for, life in a purse.
So take your purse, and dress up,
enjoy memories and don't let go.
Tho life comes fast,
wanted or not, barelling past...
age isn't so bad,
if you remember to hold on to your childhood.

Author notes

I know a friend who's dealing with some hard time's right now, and I want you to know how much I love her, she's always been like a sister to me. We have so many pictures of memories and happy times past but I don't want her to forget those times due to what age and life has faced her to endure. Tho life comes whether we want it to or not, age isn't so bad if you remember to hold on to your childhood. We've known one another for about 5 years.

    WONDERFUL

Eli, idk if this one is actually for me or not.... but i can relate to EVERYTHING in this. This is such a sweet poem, that makes me feel good to know some people still care.... and if it IS for me..... you know its hard, and i know its hard... and i try not to cry much about it anymore, but like with you yesterday i almost broke down. I try to be tough but i know i'm not made of stone.... maybe i will right a poem about it. Thanks for the inspiration.
