the empty chair

the most hopeful image ever
you never know who will take it
maybe someone that will change your life
change your mind
someone that will touch your heart
enrich your soul
someone that will quench the hunger in your soul
hunger for understanding
hunger for wisdom
someone that may answer all your questions
and finally make you understand life

I like the optimistic take you used with this piece.
The last lines remind me of the saying, "when the student is ready the teacher will appear", good job!

A chair that is empty always seems

to be inviting. Certainly, it has invited you to write verse. Indeed, someone may sit in it and change your life, ass you wisely say.

I think we all look for this kind of person to fill that empty chair. Nicely written and well thought out. Good luck with this lovely write.

this piece is so brilliant! I tried writing on this topic and my mind went blanck. what a great job! lovely perspective.

we never know who can change our lives and the way you made it a chais instead of inside your heart is very smart and a joy to read. best of wishes in the contest!

puts me in mind of 'Are You Lonesome tonight' by Elvis Presley. An empty chair, to me would be a lonely sight - but I applaud your positive attitude as you  see it waiting to be filled. Good Luck with this. Von

    a wonderful idea...

...to have someone who can do all those things would be a great help in life. The last line is the cruncher. It would be an easy life if it were true.

I like the way you have a different thought for each line.
