~For The Day~

I sit and quietly wait,
wait for the day,

in quiet slumber
anticipation grows

grows with knowledge
of a day, yet to come

where no more pain
no more loneliness
will be at my door.

where at long last
i may know
eternal comfort

where a light of love
will envelop me

seeking your guidance
to persevere daily

i move along
the path ahead of me

with light heart
and quietly wait
for the day to arrive.

Author notes

I was talking to my aunt yesterday, and she sounded like she was giving up, ready to die. Which upset me, but I also know that she is lonely, her husband passed away Oct. 31, 1991.

This piece came out of that conversation.

This is so touching...I know you can relate to your aunt. My grandmother was the same way...always missing my grandfather, waiting for the day she could be with him...I always thought that was sad, but when the day came and she joined him, even though I missed her so much, I couldnt help but to be happy for her, knowing she was where she wanted to be and was never afraid to die.
    another beautiful write sis!~
    love ya!

    Very nice piece Twinsy,
Lots of time, when the elderly have been
marry for years. Their husband or wife passses on leave them feeling just as you wrote about in this touching piece.
If they have been together for many years, it is so hard for one to go on living without the other. They're really aren't whole without their better half.
This is such a sad feeling. Your Aunt misses your Uncle and longs to be with him. It is very heart breaking.
Your write is very beautiful. Stick close to your Aunt and talk about the good old times, make her smile. It will help her.

    Loveandblessings2u & yours always

      Thanks Twinsy,

Yes, My aunt and uncle had been married like 21 years when he passed on, and only lately, has my aunt been speaking of wanting to give up. I don't know how to help her, just talking to her and being there, I guess. I mean we live sooo far apart. She is in CO and I am in NH. So phone and letters is all I can do.

I will send this one to her, in my next letter.

      and love
