Chasing the high
Berating the low
Fast and furious
All systems go
A pill in his mouth
A syringe in his arm
His body is screaming
Do me no harm
Too late for that
His heart cries in despair
His muscle start shaking
Beyond all repair
But the mind is satisfied
The hit was good
His eyes roll back
It curses through his blood
The foggy haziness
An escape from reality
But before to long
It’s the dreaded normality
A world of demons
A life of sin
An exhausted body
Ready to cave in

Fighting an addiction is one of the hardest things in this whole wide world. You have to wake up and each day decide to fight it again, good days and bad days!!!
Lovely poetry
All my best in the contest!
