Grandpa

Rubber snakes and plastic spiders.
You were the the great tease and I was your
sneaky insider.
Oh the fun we had,
You teaching me to be bad.

You didn't dare leave without me,
I always knew when you tried.

Each and every time you were won over by
The crocodile tears your sweet grandaughter cried.

I will never forget winters with you.
Snow so thick and so quick we would slide
As Dear Pabaa pulled us behind his old ride.

It was fun we were after and fun we would have!

You would thumb your nose as we slid passed the police,
Ignoring their pleas to stop and to cease.
Occasionaly you would be so arrogant as to give em a beep
As we rode passed them on our tube's, behind that ol Jeep.

My first bestest friend and my greatest fan.
It is you grandpa who taught me I can.

Love,
Nicky

Love this, coming from a long line of dry-witted practical jokers, I truly appreciate the tale and the humor and the emotions this raises. Well done.

SUCH A LOVING AND EMOTIONAL WRITE!!!!!!

We do have our memories of the good times which we must hang onto, there does come a time to let go and to let go with love and understanding.

    Beautiful

That's incredibly sweet. When a writing carries a personal feeling of love, it's easy to tell it's true poetry regardless of the style or structure.

But it is comforting to know that our loved ones are never truly gone from our lives.

Yes there is nothing like a grandpa!
I am so pleased that my grandfather pulled through. He is so sick though and it's hard to imagine my very strong and active grandfather bed ridden and broken.
Now he will be closer to me though I can spend more time with him and my grandmother.
Thank you for you comments and kindness!
      Blessings~

Simply marvelous. This poem really hit home and tugged at my heart. My grandpa is having a few problems right now and this poem almost made me cry, which is a good thing though. "My first bestest friend and my greatest fan.It is you grandpa who taught me I can." This was definetely my favorite part because my grandpa teaches me so much. I can relate to this poem. Amazing write. Keep it up. [:

Thanx Doll Faise! When I wrote this it was right after I had recieved news (last Thursday)that my grandfather may not make it.
I am happy to announce he did, he is doing well and I hope to see him soon.
He is very old and has been sick for so long that I know I need to go spend time with him now, before I have to wait.
Take Care and I'll keep your grandpa in my prayers!

He was the first man in my life...
The greatest man in my life. I try so hard not to cry when I think of him moving on. I do know he will be happier once he is released from his body which has now become his prison.
It's still hard to let go though.
Too many loved one's I have lost in the past 3 years. It's got to end soon.
      Blessings ~
      Nicole
