Unlike your father
You will be great
Listen to my words wisely
And you will become more powerful
Than anyone has before
The persians will fear you
You will reach out to the sky
Almighty Zeus will hear your cries
And Jupitur will fight by your side
As long as you follow the Gods
You will never stop
And all will bow to you
My son Alexander
Author notes
Greek Goddess Olympias:- She married king Philip II of Macedon and with him gave birth to the child Alexander who later became known as Alexander the great. during her life she was known to keep snakes and killed many people because of this. Alexander was not however King Philip II child and was supposibly the child of Zeus given to Olypias who herself was related to Neoptolemus who was the son of Achilles, who was king of Epirus and with a treaty to king Philip II Olympias was married to Philip II. Olympias had always had visions of Alexander becoming great unlike his father and so started to taint him against his father and guide him to the route to victory across many battlefields with the gods looking over him.

Great words from a mother to her son. It seems like something I (as a mother) might say to my own son. ANyway good job and good luck in the contest!

A really great poem with great emotion and historical background. Really seems as though you've got inside Olympia's head and recorded her exact words. Nice one and good luck!

A wonderful tale from the mother's side. You seem to have dipped your quill in her words, and laid them out for all to see. Simply mesmerizing.
Blessed be,
Billie Jean

I sounds like something I can hear as he touches each shoulder gently with the sword and dubs him ruler. Eh? Kick-butt.
