Taken by the pretty faces
Captured by the unscarred body
Blessed with social graces
And the beauty they embody
The imperfect girl cries alone
Ignored by the passing stares
Her troubles are unknown
Cruel words silenced as skin tears
Blinded by the pseudo they carry
Stare and pursue
Absent the lies they bury
Captivated with the outside view

    Is 'burry' meant to say 'bury'?

    Oh! You entered this contest too. I hadn't realised.
    'You are content to be shallow' is a very nice line.
    I like this. I'm certainly not unable to understand the way people feel about how they are judged by others. I expect every single person who will ever read this will be able to honestly say they can relate to it. Except me, that is, because I've always been too cynical and stubborn. People seem to love reading things that they can relate to, so well done for that. Nicely written.

    It's hard to cover up lies for it takes a lie to defend a lie. Sometimes the truth hurts, but I think most would like to hear it over some falsehood. I try my best to stay honest. Lying could never work for me even if I wanted it to for I don't have a poker face. I don't even bluff good. Now I can believe a lie for I always think everyone is telling me the truth unless I find out different. That's the gullableness in me I guess. I want to thank you for entering my "Invite Only; Me On Their List" contest.
