Faith

There used to be a time
Where I wouldn't believe
A time when things were bad
And I couldn't handle things

They just got worse and worse
And as much as I would pray
I felt that my prayers
Were never answered

Until one day
I met someone at school
We started talking and hanging out
She taught me that God would always be there
For me if I just let him in my heart

I went with her to a meeting
Talking with others about my pain
And they all said the same thing
Allow Christ in your heart
He will get rid of all the pain you feel

So I was talking with my friend Kimmy
And we sat down and talked
From there we lowered our heads and said a prayer
After I accepted Christ into my heart
So many things changed

I no longer felt any pain or anger
I felt like there was no longer
An emptiness inside of me
I started to read the bible
More and more

My faith grew stronger day by day
I started praying each and every day
See before I didn't really believe
I didn't, I couldn't find my way
But God showed me another way
Kept me from straying the path

He showed me another side of life
One that is good and full of happiness
He showed me that anything is possible
With Him by my side

Ever since that day I have kept my faith
I am stronger than ever thanks to God
I thank him each and every day
For giving me the life that I have
And instead of doubting I believe

Christ will always be #1 in my life
And nobody can tell me different
I am glad that I found my way
No longer I feel lost and confused

But now I understand everything
And I can only hope that He will stay with me
Forever and never leave my heart
I love everything that He has given me

And I thank you Lord
For helping me through
And for letting me know
You're hear when I call to you
