Hiding in the shadows
Away from those who prosecute
A wild and troublesome tale
Is what I have to share.
Falling in love
With my fair roman prince
He is true beauty in my eyes
A man like no other.
The arms of a dragon slayer
The eyes of a lover
The laugh of a soon to be king
The desire of a man.
These lead me to his arms
And also rip me from his grasp
He fills me with passion
I fill me with horror.
When promised to one
But loving another
I ask to hang from the gallows
And die a lonely death.
My father sold me away
But for a few trinkets
To a man disgusting and shrewd
A man I’ll have to make love to.
He is big and round
Dirty and mean
He makes me want to puke
And fills me with horror.
With a house of many
So many wives he’s been through
I just another girl
With not the right to choose my love.
Married without free will
Beaten and pushed around
No other choice but to stay
Because I am out of time.
The tribulation of my days
Bought by a man so I have to stay
Ignoring my hearts plea
To run to his slaying arms.
