down a lion's ear he stuck his new stick.
The lion didn't like it.
in fact couldn't abide it,
so he swallowed the little lad quick.

Nice to have an entry from another fan of Edgar. Many people quote his work and more than a few perform the recitations without knowing who originated Mr and Mrs Ramsbottom and their son.
It is amazing how many monologues have been written since with young Albert in a staring role.

I too have a soft spot for Marriott Edgar's original Albert monologue (and many of its successors).
I feel this is a very good piece that could encourage those not so familiar with the great monologist to have a look at his work.
Well Done.
