Their once was a poet called Cicely
Who wrote so clear and precisely.
She spent some time as a nurse
And wrote maritime verse
That scanned and rhymed so nicely.

    Well done Gordon.
A tribute and an education in one piece - clever stuff.

Nicely rhymed gordon and a good reminder of the pronunciation: Ci-cely and not Cic-ely - a trap I fell into until I was told otherwise

    Well done Gordon.
Not only a nice tribute but a rhyming reminder of how the lady insisted people should pronounce her name.

Thanks for reading and writing. I never knew until I got you message that Cicely was a place [apart from the fictional one http://www.curtcass.com/roslyn/ ]. I just thought it was a persons name and a plant.
Still, they say you learn something new everyday.
