Little Town

Take the train out to Giessen
See what I've been missing
I guess I was the one
Never around

I'm weary, I've fallen
I'm gone, I've been forgotten
I guess it's time to come back down
To this little town

I miss the face of happiness
I miss the smell of home
I miss the river down below
I know now that I was the one worth leaving
Now that I am home, I know

Take a sailboat down the river
Hop on a train to destiny
I see this world keeps spinning
It doesn't depend on me

I'm sorry, I've been wandering
I have never been around
But now that I'm home, I'm thinking clearly
I have found solid ground

In this little town

This poem carries quite some sad feelings with the words, but towards the end it turns to a positive feel actually. Well done!

Thank you for entering the contest - wish you the best of luck!

I can relate to the part about the world not revolving around me and understanding the need for family and similar things. O.o the small town thing though i can't really relate to that..because well...I'm a city girl I like action...hustle bustle. xD
