Left in the spotlight,
the moonlight so lonely,
the smaller ignored:
the popular lovely.
The seen are those
who supposedly have lives...
but what of us?
the minority.... this is no lie.
It is no lie that we exist,
even in the midst of doubt,
the midst of pain....
No lie that we find ourselves imperfect,
we may be 'ugly',
insane....
But the truth of it is,
in the shadows lurking about this doubt,
there is someone that
would figure out:
It doesn't take much to be one's self.
No one could imagine being anyone else...
For in a world of disgrace,
social tyrany, and 'special effects':
the pointless actions people claim,
to let them say that they are perfect.

I quite agree with your views here, the minority and the unpopulars of society do get stepped over and frowned upon. It is also a down grader to our health, i know because i am one of the un popular girls at school. We have to groups, one everyone adores and the other is more the outcasts. I'm one of these social outcasts. No one is perfect, but the "high society" make us believe that there are perfect people. I congratulate you on your poem. Good luck in the contest

I agree that noone is perfect... People may believe they are but none of us are perfect because each person in this world has a completely different idea of perfect, so noone can be perfect to all...
This is a greatly written piece, you did an excellent job on this, thanks for entering and good luck! =)
