Wishes Of Hope

Pieces of a puzzle, I'll never understand,
A world full of hate, or a dictator's hand,
It's hard to adjust in this everyday land,
As depression darkens dreams of this man.

Though I battle this sickness of many,
I still feel sometimes I'm all alone;
While others are working and doing plenty,
I'm caged in this place I call home.

I tell you these things, to not make you sad,
But of hopes that you'll see, not everyone's bad,
For sometimes I feel that way when I'm mad,
Though I miss the innocence, when I was a lad.

Peace I pray, upon those who are sick,
That their dreams may someday take flight;
I ask you Lord to light their candlestick,
So they may see through eyes of delight.

My heart goes out to all that are depressed,
For I still battle this war everyday;
Though I have had some moments of happiness,
And I send wishes of hope your way...

    Extremely touching, this was a very personal write and I thank you for sharing, you are right in that so many people have these emotions, and I find that writing helps immensely in getting out the deepest of feelings. This was very relatable and I wish you the best in your happiness!

    Beautiful

    Part of this reminds me of someone saying a prayer. In this world, all praying is necessary...I think. Beautiful piece. Captivated my heart and soul. Great job.

    {{{{{{{{{ Timothy }}}}}}}}}} Fortunately I am not depressed , but i very well understand the darkness of it . My father suffered from severe depression and committed suicide a little over 10 years ago I do hope you know that there is a lot of help out there , professionals , medication , friends and a definite strength that has to come from within you not to let it win. It is a demon I wish you the best and a little sunshine on even your darkest days . Here to talk if you should feel the need. My e-mail address is on authorpage . Feel free to write , just please put AP in subject line .

    Excellent

    Your poem captures the essence of the Dr. Phil Depression Message Board posters. Many use their last bit of rope to get there and when they get there see others hurting more than they are so stick around to offer cyber hugs and Hi's and end up gaining insight into themselves while helping. "Wishes of Hope" both identifies and extends wishes for happiness. Excellent Godspeed and best wishes 24/7
