[We need not save the planet (let the planet save us)]

The planet does not need saving,
It just needs to be left alone
The ad men and the industry
Please make your way back home
And on your way please do turn off
Your thoughts of betterment
There is no need to fear this life
Build towers of cement

The line we've trodden so linear
So ugly and so cruel
Has left us not to understand
That we're the bitter fools
The sun will rise and cast a bow
As moon begins its climb
And seasons spin around together
Not marching straigh in line

And we just need to see ourselves
As part of all that is
We are not subject to object people
On the road into abyss
Oh we are not such fools are we
To think we're one and only
If that's the case my fellows then
We'll end up cold and lonely

And whilst our hearts are turned to stone
Our planet's set to bake
As Mary carries gallantly
Her Louis Vuitton fake
And Paul he carries on to drive
His four wheel drive machine
And fails to realise the fact
That we could be pristine

For that is not here just a word
But simply it refers
To life as it is there in itself
Without these thoughtful blurs
It is not hard to make a start
To gather on your way
The things in life that will make for
A cleaner, nicer day

Yet please let no blame fall on to you
Regardless of your past
As blame's a tool of shameful men
And can no longer last
Let's all invite the other side
To realise their folly
And join us in a lovely dance
A smile, a little jolly

Please tell me what you think

    A good effort

But too many approximate or forced rhymes for me:-
    alone/home cruel/fools

I think that you are right. This was written in a few minutes as a response to an argument about climate change and Al Gore. I shall have a ponder and make a couple of changes.

      Thanks for your feedback!
