Working away the days

I have often wondered why people work to work. I struggle to believe that we are given life to work. Yes, we must work to keep our minds content, but live to work? I find that dissapointing. If in my youth I were to die I would be forever remorseful. So far I have worked the majority and enjoyed the minority. I think that this is pathetic. Why work when that work means nothing to me. Empty knowledge. Maybe it is conceded to say, but I would rather achieve great things myself than read about others who have been successful. I have wanted to achieve the best, but first I must hear how great others are. Is this simply to make us "educated." I want time and life. I've learned enough to think, and , question, and grow. Let the world teach me! It makes me wonder, are we really meant to excel or just learn, leave, and work. And for what? More work? No! I won't waste time. My time. No one should decide how my time is spent and it is a violation to do so. As soon as I'm gone I hope that I live. Yes, I must work, but I hope I won't live to work. This is my time. Give it to me.

    Nice job submerged.

I liked what you expressed in this. Only one thing...fourth line to the bottom. You have Noone as one word. You might want to correct that. Glad that you shared your thoughts with us. THANKS!

The ending was the most powerful.

"This is my time. Give it to me."

I remember talking to Kate and saying that we have no lives.
She said, "Mia, we have lives; we're just not allowed to live them."

I guess that's what it reminds me of.
