I never knew a man so full
of love of culture,
so cultured in himself.
He seems so able
to stand in another’s shoes
yet is so unafraid
to be different.
Showing me his
wondrous world,
he yet values mine!

Thank you for the chance to offer a modest tribute to Stefan DeBracey. He is, indeed, my favorite poet among many at AllPoetry, but while his poetry truly stirs me, it is his humanity that I most admire, for while his poetry does show me a world so wondrous and different from my own, I'm always struck by the active way in which he seeks to understand my own.

I shall have to check out his poems now. Nice tribute, I think when you write tributes to others you can get carried away, this is beautifully succinct, & really says what you intended.

Oh. He will be so back taken when he see this. I shall not tell him. It will be a surprise for him. He will cry. You know this don't you. We have had some very UnBritish hankerchief wringings this week with his stepson and 7 year old step grandson returning to Australia.
