It hasn't even been a full day
And already I miss you in every way
When I think of the colors blue and green
I remember your blue green eyes
Stareing right back at me
When I think of cream peach fur
I think of the way yours grew
When I see anything long and tall
I miss your oddly long limbs
I miss the way you'd take
hesitant steps towards me
When I call for you
The way you'd bow your head
I want to feel your warm
wet slobbery tougue on my fingers
I miss how funny you look
When you jump with your long body
So weird but cute
I miss you yong buddy
you passed so young
I love you
Good bye
And already I miss you in every way
When I think of the colors blue and green
I remember your blue green eyes
Stareing right back at me
When I think of cream peach fur
I think of the way yours grew
When I see anything long and tall
I miss your oddly long limbs
I miss the way you'd take
hesitant steps towards me
When I call for you
The way you'd bow your head
I want to feel your warm
wet slobbery tougue on my fingers
I miss how funny you look
When you jump with your long body
So weird but cute
I miss you yong buddy
you passed so young
I love you
Good bye
Author notes
This poem i wrote in loving memory of a dog i cared for who had just passed on at 3:10 A.M. It's weird to write a poem for a dog but to me he was much more than that. He was one of my little companions and the feeling of loss just overwhelms me. So much that I want to cry but I hate crying so I wrote. At least in this way I can morn for him and don't have to cry.
