Let my final testament ring out! If the sky were to rain arrows,
And the seas rose up to devour the terra firma I stand on;
Crucified in mid air, I’ll scream till every fiber in my being desecrates
For one name, one love, one heartbeat- and as mine stops, I’ll say-
“For you. I did this all for you.”
(My wife, my queen, my love.)
“For you. I did this all for you.”
And I would lead a thousand armies, into the belly of a mighty war;
As sword met sword, innocent ground soaked with the blood of countless men,
I’d keep my eyes on the detachment where you stand.
I’d conquer the world with you at my side.
Gods will fall at your feet, offerings of temples tumble in your name;
Demolition to the gold stadiums of Apollo, death to Athena’s marble palace-
Tragedy strikes Yeshivas churches. For you I breathe blasphemy.
And if this poem sounds just a little throwback,
Because maybe I’ve lost sense of attack;
though my spite could kill more then a million hundred men,
would you be by my side now, and even then?
“For you. I did this all for you.”
(My wife, my queen, my love.)
“For you. I did this all for you.”
If the earth were to crash into the sun; I’d be the one, [I’d be the one]
To hold you as flames engulfed the entirety of civilization.
Call me old fashioned; but I love you.
