skinny fingered thoughts
grasping for the last bite
or the first taste
devouring darkness
words, a million stories
lingering in the gray matter
searching pen ~ scribbled lines
my life ~ past tense
flickered light ~ candle low
passing through eternity
I am ready for it all
but, it all came too soon
flashing past ~ trembling future
touching each moment lightly
words laying fallow
caressed by sunlight rays
sheets of paper
crumbled in haste
circulated memories
now laying
in waste
yet, I travel on
Author notes
recent eye surgery has accelerated my blindness...I feel that I can no longer put words on paper...but, somehow, I must..this is my first attempt at writing without about 95% of my vision

Your soul seems to never forsake the beauty within, as it shines throughout this beautiful poem. It's expressed in your writing, flavored by the bits and pieces of your life and all it entails.
I'm sorry to her about the acceleration of your blindness. It hasn't seemed to affect your beautiful, meaningful words, though, Freda.
I pray you will be able to continue much longer with your wonderful poetry
You honor us with sharing what's in your heart.
Blessins
Dee

That is a wonderful line that begins a great piece. This is excellent

I cannot imagine blindness or the darkness that prevents the seeing of such a lovely world, but your soul is not blind, nor dark and it can weave tales no sighted person can write, as shown here,
God bless you with his eternal light, and perhaps some cure soon....I will think of you in the shadows when I am far too blinded by false brilliance. ~~Artis
