Fingers of darkness clawing at my brain
Icy tentacles tangled in my hair
Struggling though the mist
Trying to find solid ground
Wondering if and when I will feel the warmth of the sun again
Loneliness is thy name, this ever present evil
Crawling it’s way into the depths of my being
Illuminating the empty caverns
Deep within my soul
Exposing my weakness and need to the vultures who hover
Sadness envelopes my consciousness
Would be better to be lost in solitude
Than to feel this loneliness in masses of harden faces
Gnashing teeth and snarled smiles
Enjoying my anguished heart.
