Taking Poison With Ivy

So vivid in my mind
The icy breeze coming through the windows
Wrapping our flushed faces in crisp December air
Soft, tender speech
Caring and empathetic
We rushed past the boutique shop, around the back
Scampering up the fire escape to your loft
Giddy and elated

So vivid in my mind
Perfume sweet and soothing warmth
Like sunshine on morning shoulders
Rolling in a sea of blankets
A brush, a touch
Your electric fingertips

So vivid in my mind
Your dewy brown eyes, gorgeous and dilated
Auburn locks fall like clouds on the pillow
A gasp, a sigh
That sweet tender sleep

Please tell me what you think
