Yes...this is life! The metaphor is quite suiting for the life we live. There is a great molding that has to happen for us to be tempered for the flame my sister. Excellent work. You leave the reader with much to ponder. I wish you well in this Comp!

Such brevity here for the breath of a buffalo on a winter's night that is life... a lump of clay... oh how life moulds us - no matter if we're hard or soft.... Powerful and wonderful delivery about something books were written about yet you have it all here.
And - congratulations on your 2 500th poem... oh, my Carol that is amazing. What a true poet you are - wonderful wonderful wonderful!!!
