on the wind

i know the difference now
between an empty wind
and one which carries your name
for i have sent the wind to speak to you

of the feeling of a soft night breeze
that touched your face,
like soft falling petals;

and the gentle kiss of near still air
on heavy warm nights, when i wish to
reach close to your ear,
send love on my breath.

    These well penned words do truly convey the wind and its softest touch, and as a lovely metaphor, a great piece, best of luck in the contest!

    Such a soft and gentle sigh of a poem this is...lovely, lovely. It somehow reminds me of a poem I've written years ago and you make me want to go dig it up again. The breezes that lift and embrace and the warm breaths that whisper... it's all here.
