Burning Down Remaining Time
Wake up, brush my teeth, get ready
For the school day to begin
Eat my breakfast, do my blood test
Measure out my shot again
Far from home I wait for you to

How you’re doing, since I can’t see
You in person. What you sow
I reap worries; weep in silence
Sad to hear you feel alone.
Feel as you do, tears are falling
Steady pouring on their own.
Few more weeks of hopeful thinking,
Wishful dreaming I was there
Holding tightly, closely, strongly;
Won’t be long ‘til I’ll be near.
Put my belt on, button shirt and
Have to look like I am prime.
Got to finish what I started
