I’m at a loss to express what I feel
Cause I don’t really know what it is
A pain so deep
Yet it makes me numb
Tears flowing down
Yet stifled inside
I can’t seem to let it all out
I hate myself for seeing
The blessing in the loss
The positive in all the misery
I’m just a churning cauldron
A mass of confusion
Set on a slow, slow simmer
Boiling just beneath the surface
Life will never be the same
I’ll never look at things
The way I used to
Things have a deeper significance now
And I simply can’t view the world
Through the same old pair of shades
Instead I peer out of a mask of grief

I know the feeling all too well. You really captured it, put it into words. I loved it.

A very pained piece of depth displayed within these lines. Something that many can relate to.. Nicely penned! Thank you for your entry & Best wishes in the contest!
