Water and cloud
birth and separation
falling falling falling
surrendered warmth into embrace
and I am hungry air.
There, becoming one
making shared existence
in words, thoughts and prayers;
kisses that never leave my lips
but mark my affection
bind my caring.
Searching shadeless forms
amidst eternal togetherness
grown of wanting and emptiness
love that fills open hands, and
creation crowding vacant spaces.
I see lines and circles reaching to touch,
arcs and folds tying and taking,
tides in wrinkled time;
beauty, unique in all of existence
and it was you, always you,
at the door, and with me;
always.

Oh how hungry we all are for air....for that which is ther but almost illudes us...beautifully written...

"Water and cloud, birth and separation"...these two lines are the most poignant for me. Clouds are water, and, as a mother, I know the sense of carrying life to a beginning and separation physically,yet a bond never lost. A wonderful write for the quote you've chosen and you have birthed a beautiful poem. Good luck in the contest. Peace, Rhonda
