I hate the motherfucking radio
they play all day at work
I hate the self-absorbed
so-called musicians who
share their "wisdom" with me
shaking their genitals
into the microphone and
calling it art

I hate the idle gossip
of my fellow coworkers
as they cut one another
into tiny little shreds
of pure evil and ignorance
proving their superiority
to no one listening

I practice my forebearance
and smile at the radio
smile at my coworkers
because it is not really them
I despise and wish harm to
but the part of me that
wants to participate

    Al this part here is very deep. However I think that gossip and spreading rumors really suck. It hurts people and destroys what could be a positive work environment. No matter who you are or where you work you will be faced with sitiuations such as this.
    Difficult to hold self aloof from the negativity. But if you can manage it good for you.

    Interesting write. the ending was good. Yeah, sometimes I wonder why people gossip about each other behind their backs. I never gossip about anyone and I am always hearing some co-workers saying things about other workers when they aren't around to hear. I figure if you don't have the guts to say something to a person's face, don't bother saying it about them at all. Keep up the great writes.

    I think we all have that little part inside that rolls with joy like a puppy in garbage at all the mean little snippets of gossip and bouts of self proclaimed omnipatence(sp) It takes a strong mind and a truck load of will power to stay away from that sort of thing. A word of advice if I may? Don't hate yourself for being human, just work on making yourself better! A rant worthy of reading and spewing
