I am not religious,
I am not an atheist,
I once was really religious,
I know the bible,
My childhood was spent going to church.
Either there is no god,
Or God was simply ignoring me,
Either way, I wasn't interested,
Not in a selfish god anyways.
I go to church,
About once a year,
The reason?
You wouldn't believe how happy,
My mother gets when I accompany her,
Yet I don't like going to church.
Either there is no god,

Not in a erroneous god anyways.
How to survive?
All you need to know,
Be empty,
Sounds easy, right?
All you have to do is listen,
Once you listen let it go past you,
In one ear and out the other.
Either there is no god,

Not in a chaotic god anyways.
Don't get me wrong,
Their words are great:
Sex is bad,
There are so many diseases,
(But I do engage in it nonetheless).
Pornography is bad,
Those things degrade people,
(But I do own some Porn).
Alcohol is bad,
It ruins your body and life,
(But I do confess loving vodka).
Drugs are bad,
They are addicting and deadly,
(But I have tried different kinds).
Killing is bad,
It is just not right to take someone's life,
(But I've killed rabbits, snakes, toads, lizards, list goes on...)
Gays are bad,
well... not really, they're human, right?
(Here is where I say I'm gay, I'm not, but you do your thing gay people).
Their words are encouraging,
But they talk in absolutes,
Nothing is all good or all evil,
The problem is not that they judge us,
The complication is that they don't accept us,
We are wrong and they are right,
They scare people into believing,
Well I don't want to live my life in fear.
Either there is no god,
Or God was simply ignoring me,
Either way, I wasn't interested,
Not in an evil god anyways.
To sum it all up,
Listen,
But don't let them change your mind,
Respect them,
Hope they approve you,
But don't be a slave.
Either there is...
You know what,
Nevermind this,
You know what I'm going to say,
Some harsh reality about god...
I mean God.

As Ive said I'm not an atheist, or a churchy dude. I am just a person trying to cope with his existence. oh I have been reading "The Gospel According to Jesus Christ" by Jose Saramago, and I think the book makes a lot of sense (most of it at least). but yeah I know this might make some people mad, but I think that people should be open minded about... well anything... I really think that this piece can mean a lot to people. people who are completely repulsed by church. I tried to explain that religion is not bad, it just has its faults. anyways either this is one of the best pieces I've written or I should seriously consider going to bed now.

"I'd like to thank Ra.", that's awesoem. And this piece is really good, and I agree with a lot of the things you say. The repetition, and then how you end the pice is cool. Only I don't know what "erroneous" means? And the parts with all the bad things, like that a lot. Just thinking, that in the "drugs" part you repete the words twice, and i think it could be better if you say something else in the third line (like you do in all the others, which I really like)it could just be like (But I have tried different kinds) insead. Just a though. What else do I wanna say... Maybe that people shouldn't get mad even if they are realy religous, yor expressing an opinion and your doing it really well. This is really good stuff, and your using the words in a great way. Keep it up. You don' have to go to bed.

Hmmm. I really liked your point of view on religion. It's wayyy different from those hardcore bible thumbers and the atheists. You fall gently inbetween and it fits.
