Curveball; Shattered

I step up to the plate
For the first time
In a long time

It's my time to shine
My time to show everyone
What I've been waiting for

But I've chosen the wrong pitcher
He's got a trick up his sleeve
It's his legendary curveball

But I'll grip that bat
Thinking I can take it
I should've known better

The pitch is thrown
And the strike is called
But I've still got a chance

The smirk that taunts me
And I take the bait
I'm such a fool

Another curve that I miss
And I'm down to my last chance
What should I do?

I'll walk away
I'm through with this game
Never again will I lose

If he thinks for once
I'll fall for it again
He's got another thing coming

OH wow.. now this is definitely expressing some inner emotions! Very sad that games are played with hearts.
You are correct in saying "I'm done" walking away is the best thing you could do.
Where is that bat anyways??? And what is this chaps name??
    Excellent write!!
