One time they stood, side by side.
Looming over all around.
They could be seen from miles away.
Those bright and shinny towers.
No one ever dreamed that:
One day they would crumble.
We had an enemy, we did not know.
Who came they took over our skies.
Flew our planes into their sides.
They didn't just hit one, They rammed them both.
Inside the people were scared, confused, and afraid.
Most didn't know what to do. Some cried, some hid, some prayed.
Thanks to the news on TV most of us shared their fear,
We watched all day in disbelief what was going on there.
The firemen, police and others too did their best to save the rest.
Most of us could only watch. Some of us did pray.
We watched, we cried when the towers came down.
The day the they took our innocence away.
Once they stood tall now burned, and weakened by fire,
the weight of the planes, was just too much,
It brought them to the ground.
As soon as the dust settled the searching it began.
Help came from all over. People and dogs searched every inch.
To try and find any life, that had been spared.
Yes, on that day America pulled together.
One in heart and spirit. Go get them we said.
What ever it takes. Bring them to justice and make them pay.
Now all these years later have we forgotten?
Do we not remember what they did.
Do we not care any longer?
Those who lost their love ones, they remember.
Their lives are still affected.
How I wish we all could see.
A shadow of the towers
etched in our minds as an edifice
so we could not forget.

Me again. I was just reading over the finalists in my contest and you obviously are one of them and I couldn't help to notice another spelling error

In this line:
"the weight of the planes, was just to much,"
the 'to' should be 'too'
Just thought I would let you know. -
Also you spelled forgotten wrong..
