Behold the cash of the scholar
in abandoned discipline
in exhibitions of discovery-
the irresolute questions
the enigmatic obscurity
the problem of clarity
in unquestioned chivalry
inhaling the apprehension
of drifting speculations-
the fall and ruin
the psyche robed in diverting costumes
the cheering subsides
the specimen unearthed
the extravagant fire exhaled
in cheerful exertions of wastefulness…
The shaking, colliding atom of the brain
marked by a flavor of innocence
in quantum perplexities
and bewildering riddles
in the abundant, unadorned grasslands of the mind
growing in the blustering determination
between the inexplicably marvelous,
the exotic, and the grotesque narratives
that emphasize irregular maneuverings
while dashing the length of the imagination.
The oscillating tranquilizer beaming in fanciful prayers
extraordinarily odd and yet passionate,
exudes a quality of primitive agony
shining in brilliance
and lulled into a peaceful stillness
examined untrustingly by clattering fanatics
wholly unmusical in the salty air.
I save the clippings in the abandoned trees
to torment the jeering dung beetles
and agitate the misty vapor
settling on the discordant members
who follow their retraced footsteps
in indifferent memories
yet in a clever purpose to procreate;
and continuing in their snarling existence
they illuminate the harsh reality
of defective inconsistencies
and ingrained absurdities.
I offer no excuse for the mutiny of skillful convenience
and grumble in stately anxiety
as the splendid laughter dozes
in intricate ironworks
driven into the catacombs of far-sighted attainments
beneath the distorted mansion of the sagacious mind.
Author notes
When everything is settled, done, and in its place, where does the mind roam...?
(I see a hint is needed: see title...)

You targeted a big dragon by writing this poem.
"I offer no excuse for the mutiny of skillful convenience
and grumble in stately anxiety
as the splendid laughter dozes
in intricate ironworks
driven into the catacombs of far-sighted attainments
beneath the distorted mansion of the sagacious mind."
I'm still puzzled...

Wowee, you have sailed so high with your word choice in this one. I love when people get creative with words and aren't scared to use big ones. So for that reason I loved this piece.
Authors notes, well good question. Can't answer it though, lol.
Very well written piece that I really enjoyed

I think the vocab is aimed at reflecting the nature of research and our pursuit of knowledge, obscure and enchanting, sometimes finding meaning other times hiding it away.
The length iof the poem also reflects the length of strained discourse - to me at least.
As regards to the notes - it doesn't exist, does it? -
"I save the clippings in the abandoned trees
to torment the jeering dung beetles
and agitate the misty vapor
settling on the discordant members
who follow their retraced footsteps
in indifferent memories"
...wow, that was awesome...were you trying to use as many "big" words as possible? Haha! I was surprised that I knew all of those words though...ah thank you Mrs. Deitche's 11 grade English class...she was big on vocab...^_^
