no twisted metal
just a man in black
and pain
and the
burning bloody
water going down the drain
broken backbone
crying in the shower
isn't really crying
i told her
afterwards
but what was she to say?
there was nothing
and i
kept
crying

This is some truly great imagery (as others have said) and it captures so beautifully the sadness of abortion (unless I am interpreting this incorrectly) I think of blood and fetal tissue swirling down a drain linked by an image to the 'father' crying in the shower. At least, that is what I take away from the poem. I do not know if my interpretation is correct. The poem is just vague enough to give several possible interpretations. Great write, and thank you for sharing it with me!

Great imagery here, makes an impression. Best of luck in you contest!
-
vivid and intriguing, wonderful imagery. the repetition of cryng is very effective; not too much, but enough to make an impact.
i wish you all the best in the contest
