I can knit
a lovely scarf
a weaving of
colours to
keep your neck
warm
each time I try
my pattern becomes
neater
and
cleaner
if I give you
a personal scarf
you'll treasure
knowing
it was knit
just
for
you
how much more
all I can think
is how much more
precious
a treasure
is a child
knit together
in your womb
[just
for
you?]
Author notes
"For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother's womb."
Psalm 139:13

This is a really good metaphor. Not one you would expect. I like that originality, and that you put the verse in your notes that inspired it. I am not all that familiar with the bible, but I know that verse and I was wondering if that is what inspired you as I was reading the poem. I see that it was.
This was a great write. Thanks for letting me read it, and thanks for entering the contest! -
