Me and Myself

Hey, little boy
You are me,
And I am who you speak to.

Looking out a window
opening,
But noone's there to sing to.

And you will stay sober,
and you will stay fit and well.
You will keep humble,
yet happiness will come in spells.

      But like every domino falls,
          So will you.

Hey little boy,
no crying,
express the words you mean to.

Social vanity means
you're lying,
Though it doesn't seem to.

      But like every domino falls,
          So will they.

Yet you and the night have one thing in common,
You're both waiting for the Sun.

And though you could say
that I turned away,
You'll do the same thing too,

Because I am You.

I can definitely imagine this as a song. You address so many things here, yet don't go very in depth to any of them, which I think there is a huge potential here to do. I'm having some trouble seeing how this fits into the theme of my contest...in a very loose way I suppose there are things here you wouldn't want to ever forget, but even a few author notes might have helped explain that if it was your intention.

In any case, I thank you for taking the time to enter, and wish you good luck. I enjoyed the read.

    Best wishes,
    ~J.

This is actually a song I wrote, so if it reads kinda fast, know that it really isn't. I just cant put hundreds of spaces between the verses to signify pauses lol.
