When Eyes No Longer Parallel

Dina props the wall, thighs spread
against floor, scribbles
in a gnawed-edge notebook.

Darren eases
into the slouch of her shadow.
She hesitates: looking up
is now a bore.

omg -- lol. i love the honesty of these characters, how you write their total honest feelings, feelings & situations that aren't normally found in poetry.

There is something extremely provocative about this poem - so many ways to interpret it and I love that about a poem! Wonderful visuals you've managed to create here, Stacy. Seems as if Dina has no need to look up - other things that occupy her eyes, lol! I so enjoyed this one and wonderful to find a new poem from your pen. I love where this one took my mind!

Thank you so much Nic. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Not only are her eyes preoccupied, she just doesn't enjoy 'looking up' any more.. if she ever really did.
