Society in My Relationship

Society puts so much
Stress on relationships.
If one is in High School
And one in College
Working around schedules
Can be so frustrating.

My boyfriend and I
Are going through this.
Girls at his school
Say he and I should break up
So they can have him
Plus it’s convenient.
But I try to keep us together
For the sake of love and sanity.

We fight constantly
And wonder why we are still together.
I say “it’s because I love you.”
But if love is all we need
Then why do we struggle?

We struggle because of life.
Life is unfair
Life works against the good things in life.
So if we truly believe
That we should be together
Then we do whatever it takes
To fight the whippings that life
Poses on us.
