Workers of the world

Unbreakable union of working-class peoples
our blood and sweat welded forever to stand
Oh, hail to the brotherhood forged by our labors
long may it prosper, O great mighty strand

Rise, ye proletarians, raise your voices to all the earth
we are the true heirs to all of the world
hear the mighty chorus singing, long live the laborer
a new day has dawned! our flag is unfurled!

Author notes

to the tune of the Soviet national anthem

I sence tons of deeper meanings...unfortunately i hated Social Studies. Nonetheless i caught the gist of it, and found it to be a very powerful and well written poem. I love the flow, the strength, and the word usage. Overall great piece. Thank you for entering our contest!

Not many of us know the tune (by Alexandrov if I recall). I fear the irony of the words may be lost on the contest holder!
