I lied through trembling lips when I said I loved you too.
Too caught up in the moment to realize the damage done
and now I find solace in the dark when you are sleeping
and I don't have to look in to those eyes
filled with the excitment that false words have inspired.
Love is too much to say in words
and you were so quick to speak it
without knowing the meaning
and what it might do to us.
Thought we were taking this slow?
Only three weeks
I couldn't love you.
Could I?
Please tell me what you think

Smart
So many , especially the young, think love is instantanious. Then the pain comes..

Wow... I have to say that I like this poem a whole bunch. A lot of people these days throw around the words 'i love you'.... that's why just the other night my boyfriend and I had a long conversation about the whole 'love' concept and I told him that he wouldn't hear me say those three words until I thought that I really ment them. I know that sounds cold hearted but I've been the person who has gotten hurt by those words. Your poem has a lot of strong meaning behind it for me and I enjoyed it. AWESOMENESS!!!

Wow. This is so simple, yet so heart-breaking. I relate to this so much, and you portrayed it beautifully. Just something about this hurts, in a good way, lol.
Some of the lines seem a little long, but I wouldn't change a thing.
Lovely write, don't stop.
