Good Morning America

"Good morning America!"

Have you shot up today?
  Heroine for the masses
laces my nostrils with
steamy propaganda
flying over the air-waves.

You got me Big Brother!
    Unlike the b U d d ha
we sleep with our
    "i's open

    central focus:

                          o b l i v i o n!

mesmerize them with
  glamour
stultified
  we founder in
a torpidity of unconscious

numbing,
drumming into our
olfactory senses.

                        buythis.eatthat...smellgood...lookyoung...

"fuck a dollar, fuck a dream"

the palaber of the
  abracadabra
the look-good
  feels better

instant fix
    toxins
we're ingesting daily
into our aching bellies;

with Machiavellian deployment
  we find ourselves
bombarded, lombasted
  outwitted
dumbfounded

steroidally fixated
  on bigger is better,
some trompe l'eoil
we try to do, to believe
  the right thing

some unseen
catatonic goop
  implodes
  (false-pride)
playing on our contrived

sympathies...warning us:
                                  let's
remember their big "red apple" appeals:

  the elderly, the lonely
  the young, the scared,
  the disabled, the pregnant,
  the blacks, the jews, the
  hindus, the israelis
  the unemployed, the fatted-cow
      right-winged
      left-assed mentalities

neo-communist facists
BIG BROTHER main-sailing
an already sinking ship of
worn out toddlers

                          speakingup,standingup,fessingup,coughingup,dressingup.

Beneath the wirey beards
of mechanized hooplah
    one Phallic figure
waves a frothy finger
into the genitals of a
world mummified
stupified, horrified
by an unseen, too often heard

                                  Voice...nursing us

suckling us at the Mother's tit
her breasts raw and sore from
pulling out, going in, rocking back
and forth...we the deprived children
suckling upon the  glory train to freedom.

We the waiting
await our choice of
spoon-fed narcotics,
(nightly horrow shows, drunkalogs,
sex, drugs and rock'nroll) our
precious feedinghours
                                corrupting us
inside One International
Body of Inhumanity

How deep the River bleeds her young!

But the Mantle of Liberty
passes me her cloak and asks:

{Will you stand up for your rights?}
or will you continue following the leader
into the daily deluge of dopamine
popped down our throats...

                                  bleating like sheep:

                                    lobbyists,commiteeists,soldarityists
                              Media-paparazzioists
                                    glamour mongrels
                            dramamine for the masses

inhousejournalist...rapingus;lucidspeakersfilabustering...dramatizingus
                            en masse assemblage redressing the
                            River....for bleeding her young
                                You, me , we
allowing the milking
                              splashing our guts
                                          into
instant meals:
  cellphane lies
hindsighted cries

complacent beggers
  we...wee
hobos with million dollar
  homes
thanking our "lucky stars"
we live in the land of
      golden opportunity

the home of the free
and the brave
where anyone is invited
  encouraged
  ordered
                                    to die...
                        to die for their country

free transportation
  guaranteed back
        h o m e
in ready-to-bury
  doggie bags

wave your flags
bare your breaasts...
love the "good" life

                                infested with River maggots

we allow to steal
the power invested...divested in us.

protracted "i's"
sleep-walking
trapped beneath the whores
of constitutionality
buying the cattle calling dream scheme.
                                  North American genocide!

Nations wake up!
untie the knotted umbilicle
to suicide:
sensu-sexu-ality

bloating
your minds and bellies
masturbating each to the
other in incestuous
oedipal complexities

our singular belief:
                                if it feels good
                                    do it!
                              That's all that matters

(keep the prisoners
  happy, mommie)

our singular
National Emblem
our anthem of anathema

Pass me your baton, Holy Mother

for I am shorn from the
Ancient Worms of
habit...tired of
awaiting some promised
Messiah
to rise up and save me
them,us,we
from the

dreamsleepingstate
of the irrepressible
                                    sleepy "i" of freedom.

                                  "Good morning America"

Wow, that's fantastic poetry. Reminds me of the A bit of Fry & Laurie sketch...
    Seems you're a see-er and a feeler, -in a more valid artform
    you might even be talented...
You've got me in the mood for some Bob Dylan...

I assume this is dirty-pretty? I don't know just assuming, never mind me. lol

I enjoyed these lines the most, a fact I can see in my country as well. Thanks for entering and good luck.

    Love

  • I think you have tackled every issue worldwide and this really sniffs of gold to me! You have said it all with passion and sadness.
    Best wishes with this

  • Whoa! This is some very powerful language and metaphor here. I don't know where to begin but it is all very impressive imagery; and I couldn't agree with you more~ You pretty much tackle about every faucet of corruption in the good ole American dream. Loved the satire too; with "Good Morning America"
My wish is for your song to get published and sung loudly to the world until it sinks into everyone's thick skulls what is happening to us and being done to our world. I can even see a music video coming out of it.We need to open our eyes and see the truth. It may be too late, but we must still keep trying....
    Thank you!

  • It was a little difficult for me to follow (the rapidity of the pace and the structure itself was slightly confusing to me), but I very much like the rhythm of your words.

    Thank you.

  • This had good wordage and was well written but it isn't waht I was looking for even though it could be tweaked to fit the theme of this contest. Thank you for sharing

  • Rich, complex, vivid images

a feast for the senses and mind and soul dear poet. Thanks for entering a very intense and thought-provoking write!

    Yikes!

A very clear expression of your opinion...showcased your passion and your extensive vocabulary. I enjoyed the many metaphorical images. I agreed with some of the main points. It got a bit long, but my rants are the same way. Thank you for entering.
