"On Filling In The Gaps Of Insanity."
Would that they were all blanks!
Blank bullets firing off:
blank headlines,
blanketing these countries of woe.
Blank faces staring out
at the sunrise in
Baghdad and Islambad,
without the alarms of an
I.E.D. becoming D.I.E.D,
as veiled women bend to ordinary tasks.
Shepherding children off to school,
baking pita bread; hot and savory,
filled with the meat of plenty,
from a pacifistic sacrificial lamb!

I read and re-read this entry as it brings Hemingway's Blank Verse right into the 'here and now'. Fascinating reading, sombre in content but the wish behind the words is, sad to say, only almost universal. Thank you for this entry. Von
