The clouds roll in, the sky becomes night
flashes outline an image as the thunder cries
faint screams are heard through the storm
wings of purity and innocence cry out
his eyes now open to this world below
arms stretched wide, his wings grow motionless
like a drop of rain he follows his tears
his descent ignites into a fire so bright
feathers and flesh burn off into ash
faster he falls through the night sky
the ground shakes as he comes crashing down
in the midst of this crater and smoke
he is born again to this plane
white feather now scorched black
kindness now jaded as hatred builds
fallen forever from the canvas above
lost to the blackness we hold inside.
