Looking Back

As I look back upon my walk on Earth,
I see the joy I see the worth.
To see before me so many a face,
how blessed I was with God's grace.

Lived my life for my children's laughter,
now await my life here after.
Remember the good times don't be sad,
be happy for all the years we had.

For the one I love he will always be,
here in my heart a part of me.
Though we shared a love hidden away,
my love I missed you everyday.

There are regrets and was much pain,
children were sunshine among the rain.
So loved by many here and afar,
dreams elusive among the stars.

I shall take with me many memories,
when I leave this life behind me.

    Very beautiful.

As always you write such beautiful poetry. You find the rhyme in what you write. I love poems that rhyme, for they have a beauty that is always a pleasure to read. This poem is a tribute to that creativeness of yours. One can't help but feel your walk with God in your words. The love you speak of in your children shines through as well. We all have had regrets and pain in our lives you show that we can get through all of it if we remember the joy as well. This is truely beautiful and well done. Bless you for shareing your beautiful poetry with us. The very best of luck in this contest. I loved this.

I really enjoyed this, it certainly did have a contented feel, which surely is how we all want to face the End? Without fear, just the love we gave and received during life. Lovely.
