sitting in traffic
on the LA freeway
I’m sweating here
like a pig
bumper to bumper
horns are honking
obscenities
shouted with
faces distorted
nobody
seems to care
the sun beats down
on sweltering pavement
I breathe
the dense smog air
with disgusted thoughts
again, I say
'can’t take
this life no more'
it’s just another
dirty day
'I’m moving to
New York.'

well done my dear friend - I have never lived on the west or east coast but living in the midwest ( Minnesota,Iowa, Illinois) the seasons are grand however when the summer heat and humidity (~of 100-120 heat indexes) kicks in we'd wish winter was near (except for me I'm usually cold year round) and in winter the frigid cold (0 to minus 50 below windchills)we'd wish the summer temps were nearby. well done and many blessings always xxxx

I love NY. I wold move there any day, though the smog is just as bad. The people too. LA is a nice little place to visit, but I wouldn't want to leave there either. I love the sporatic ryhme.

i like this, Isnt it funny how we always wish we were somewhere else? and its not until we are somewhere else that we actually apreciate where we already were.
Great poem and great thoughts. -
I live in Florida, pretty hot here even in the "winter" time. Winter for me doesn't start 'til late December and ends in mid March.
When it's hot, you wish it were cold, when it's cold you wish it were hot. Why can't it ever just be in between?
Good poem, man.
